Project Manager in Heavy Civil Construction

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Heavy Civil Construction and be adept at managing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules
  • Monitor Field Progress: Ensure projects are on track and meet quality standards
  • Job Cost Coding and Estimate Management: Manage project budgets and cost estimates
  • Oversee Vendor and Subcontractor Agreements: Negotiate and manage purchase orders and agreements
  • Review Costs and Billing: Oversee costs, billing, as-builts, and change orders
  • Project Close-out: Ensure successful project completion and close-out
  • Technical Knowledge: Utilize Project/Primavera knowledge for effective project management.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
  • Resource Allocation: Manage and allocate resources efficiently to ensure project success
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure high standards
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough project documentation and reporting

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • 6+ years experience as a Project Manager in the Heavy Civil Construction
  • Thorough understanding of standard construction practices, process and methods
  • Excellent Computer and Communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently

Assistant Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 9-10 years of experience managing large construction projects and will assist in overseeing the daily operations of our construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent, Project Managers and other team members to deliver high-quality projects.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Superintendent in managing and overseeing large-scale construction projects from start to finish
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines
  • Coordinate daily activities and ensure all site operations are conducted in a safe, timely and efficient manner
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and suppliers
  • Conduct quality control inspections to maintain high standards
  • Assist in budgeting and cost control measures
  • Utilize construction management software such as HH2
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Utilize Ohmmeter for electrical testing as needed
  • Support the Superintendent in all aspects of project management

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 9-10 years of experience in construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods
  • Knowledge of contract management and budgeting processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and specifications
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations for maintaining a safe work environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple task simultaneously

Senior Estimator in Heavy Civil Construction

We are a Heavy Civil / Environmental Construction company looking for an experienced Estimator to join our staff.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Research available projects, gather all details about each project, make sure we are prequalified and/or submit any necessary paperwork to become qualified.
  • Create RFQs, examine plans and specs, perform take-offs
  • Complete cost portion of a bid using Bid2Win estimating software.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • 10-15 years of experience as an Estimator in the Civil Environmental field.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be thorough in calculations of costs
  • Have the determination to work needed hours to compile complete and concise bids.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong Computer skills, including Bid2Win, Agtek.

We are seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing our accounts payable processes, entering invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, and maintaining financial records. A background in the heavy construction industry is essential for understanding the unique financial aspects and terminology associated with construction projects. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables' data
  • Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all AP transactions
  • Reconcile credit card accounts and bank accounts
  • Monitor vendor payment agreements to ensure payments are up to date
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and prepare reports as needed
  • Support the finance team with additional task and projects as required

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, HH2, Foundation, or similar)
  • Knowledgeable with PO’s and Job Costing
  • Experience with Heavy Construction A/P
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using construction management software and other relevant tools.
