KCC was awarded a competitively bid with GCIA to construct the initial staging area for EEW, an offshore wind monopile manufacturer, who is building out a facility to accommodate the development of offshore wind projects in the Mid-Atlantic Coast.

KCC was awarded a competitively bid with GCIA to construct the initial staging area for EEW, an offshore wind monopile manufacturer, who is building out a facility to accommodate the development of offshore wind projects in the Mid-Atlantic Coast.

Project Highlights

  • KCC’s scope of work included the import of material with an efficient fleet of trucks to surface approximately 7.5 acres with:
    • 12,000 CY of Coarse Aggregate, Size No. 357
    • 36,000 SY of Geotextile

 

  • The special nature of the project called for specific materials.
    • KCCworkedtirelesslywiththeownertodesignandassistthroughouttheduration of the project in order to get the needed ground stability.

 

  • The timeframe was fast track, with the current tenant having components that needed this staging area for storage.

 

  • Also included in the project were:
    • Storm drainage inlets and piping
    • Timber rail protection

 

  • Additionally, the contract included two alternates:
    • Grading subgrade
    • High mast lighting and associated civil works
    • Bollards
